Living a life with an overbearing father can be a challenge. For Rayea whose father is the fallen angel, Lucifer, it's been torture. In the second installment of the Vampire from Hell series, Rayea finds peace when she visits the House of G. There she hopes for a new beginning among Blick's angelic friends, only to discover a vampire from Hell may not be welcome.

A Vampire Among Angels The Vampire from Hell Part 2 eBook Ally Thomas

I really like the premise of this storyline. Devil's got a daughter and he turns her into a vamp. She's got an interesting sidekick/friend. She joins the other team. She needs to learn to deal with what she is. Definite promise. Characters are a bit flat, but that's ok. The story has great promise.

Part 1, even pre-rewrite, has promise. Start of Part 2, has promise. Admittedly, I started questioning things when Rayea hears a voice in her head that she, at no point, questions. At first, I thought it was her conscious, but then we find out its male. Does she mention this to her friends? no. Do they even have an inkling anything is wrong, even when in telepathic communication with her? no. But she doesn't worry or question this herself. ok...questionable, but minor. I'm willing to forgive because the rest has been good.

But then I get to Chapter 12 (they're short chapters) and the author just throws the whole story out the window. Did she have a deadline and needed to wrap things up? I'm not going to give spoilers, but the latter part of Chapter 12 is terrible, ill thought out, nonsensical.... (the first part isn't that great, but I could live with it). The only reason I kept reading was that I was waiting for Rayea to wake up from her dream.. that's the only thing that could make sense.

Now - I'm not saying the scene *couldn't* happen. But it happened WAY to soon and was very unrealistic - you can only ask for so much from your readers!

5 - idea
3.5 - character development. they're rather flat
3.7- scene flow. get's a little choppy at times
3.7 - going into details on scenery and stuff like that. some authors do too much. not a problem here, but a little more could be used. I honestly prefer less than more, helps flow of reading.
? - plot development... this is difficult. I probably would have given it a 4 before Chaper 12. Chapter 12 brings it down to 2, maybe even 1. After Chapter 12..everything is rushed... I'd say a 3. So 2.5 overall.
So - it gets a 3.

As stated earlier - I think the author has something here, but she's rushing it.

A Vampire Among Angels The Vampire from Hell Part 2 eBook Ally Thomas Reviews

Too funny and a great story line. So wonderfully written that you will not want to put it down. I loved this book from start to finish and I am on to book 3. Happy reading, you will not regret it if you like paranormal with a sense of humor and a twist.
After everything she went through, she finds herself at the House of G. Seems the angels need her help defeating some evil doers. She has to take down people she knows too well
As always I really enjoy reading this series, Ally does wonderfully with creating characters you love, and love to hate. I only wish the books were longer
I enjoyed this book much better than the first part. I liked the characters and the story. It had action, drama and a little romance. I enjoyed the humor in it and didn't think it was inappropriate. J and G are just fictional characters afterall. It was well developed and easy to read.
Ally Thomas continues to develop the characters in this unique series that takes vampires in a different direction from much of the contemporary ebook fiction on the market. This series has lots of excitement and just enough sexiness to whet the appetite of readers while maintaining a line that makes the stories acceptable for older teens.

I highly recommend this and the rest of the series, but especially in paperback format. I enjoyed part 3 in printed form by a campfire and you would too!
It bothered me that from the first book to the second that the author changed the story things that didn't happen in the first book were written in for the second and I had to re-read some of the last chapter of the first book to not be lost. Also, sex scenes don't bother me, but sex scenes immediately followed by the presence of the Savior are a bit sacrilegious. The use of the "C" word is more than unnecessary. Other than my complete disdain for those things, the story line is one that I still found interesting.

Vampires, angles, dragons, and even zombies, oh my!
In this second installment of the Vampire from Hell novella series, the story continues with Rayea in the heavenly compounds. Being on the run from her murderous father and dealing with her new powers are just a few of her problems.
The story just keeps getting better and the story line continues in this installment. Other than a few formatting or spelling errors I was able to read the story in one sitting. Normally I don’t enjoy novella stories and they are too short to get the character development I look for in a story. However, Ms Thomas does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to live and getting me to invest in them emotionally.
I am enjoying this series and will continue with part three this weekend.
What do you do when the Big Guy tells you to take a vacation? You take it obviously. If you want to find out more please check out part 3, A Vampire on Vacation.
